Love You Much

And I do - love you, that is!  But what the title actually refers to is a great bundle that Stampin' Up! is currently offering until January 31, 2009.  It's called, appropriately, Love You Much Bundle.  It is a super deal because the price is 20% off the products if purchased individually.  It's a great set for making Valentine cards for family and friends, but it's going to be good for more than that, so I want to show you two cards I made.  One is a great Valentine, lots of red.   The second would be a good card for just about anybody (including those guys in our lives) any time.  I love those little birds!  So let take a look at the cards. 

 

I suspect the Dazzling Diamonds glitter doesn't show well here.  It's on the little flower and the punched heart (using the bundle's great punch that matches one of the stamps!) and really gives the card that extra "something."  I borrowed this card design from another demonstrator, Lisa Freeman (thanks, Lisa!).  One of the things I really love about being a demonstrator is that everyone shares ideas with each other.

I used the 5/8" Riding Hood Red Striped Grosgrain ribbon on the card.  That's not included in the bundle, but it is a great complement to the card.  Stampin' Up!'s colors always match or are very close coordinates.  If you've ever hunted all over town (think of all the gas money...) trying to match colors, you know how important this is to crafters. 

The cardstock piece is layered on Riding Hood Red and is raised with Stampin' Dimensionals to give it a little boost.

The second card is fun, I think.  Not a Valentine because I want to use this set way more than just during January and February.  Let's take a look:

 

This card is my very own design!  I wanted to create a card I could even send to a guy, and I think this one fits that description.  If you didn't want a heart above the birds' heads, it would be simple to mask it out, but I think it's kind of nice there.  I used my Blender Pen to pull the Pacific Point ink in a little to give the birds a watercolored look.  There is also a light shadow of Sahara Sand under the birds to ground them.  That didn't scan well.  I placed the legs of the brad around the ribbon for a different look. I also put a mini glue dot behind the back portion of the ribbon to hold it in place.   I hope you like it!
