Today I saw the cutest card! I just had to share it with you, but I have to admit that I did change it a little bit when I made my own. You know how it goes; you start to copy someone else's creation, and you can't help yourself. You try a little change here and there. My final card is definitely inspired by Mary Davidson (thanks, Mary!) but it's also very much mine. I love the Heart to Heart punch (#113694 shown on page 186 of the NEW Idea Book & Catalog), and at its regular price of $15.95, it's a good deal (the Stampin' Up! punches are amazing. If you've never had one, now is the time!) but at just $10.99, it's an excellent deal. But to get that deal, you have to act fast. It will be gone after July 31st. So here's my card (thought I'd never get around to showing it to you, didn't you? Sorry, but I just had to share the Deal of the Week information with you, too.
My scan is not good, folks, and I apologize for that. This card is so neat in real life, and I love how it combines cute with elegant. I used the Elegant Bouquet Textured Impressions Embossing folder (#115964 on page 195) in my Big Shot to emboss flowers along the left side and top. Unfortunately, those barely show, but it is so pretty. The little "Mr. & Mrs." is part of the stamp set All Holidays (#114916 on page 43); it's a great set to use all year long; there are 12 stamps of several size and style text in the set; take a look at it! I also used the little love birds from Love You Much (#113756) on page 44. I wanted you to see that the punch and stamps are great for more than just Valentines. I also used a little Whisper White Organza Ribbon (#114319, page 183), Whisper White cardstock (#100730, page 155), Regal Rose cardstock (#105130, page 157) and Basic Black cardstock (#102851, page 155). The Basic Gray cardstock (#108692) background is not part of the card; I put it there to give some contrast; it's a great staple for your cardstock collection, though. I used my Basic Black inkpad (#101179, page 155) to stamp the Mr. & Mrs. at the bottom, and I used my Basic Black marker (#100082, page 155) and my Regal Rose marker (#105108, page 157) to ink the love birds and little heart above them. I used some Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430, page 192) to lift the love bird piece up a little. I like to do that to give a little oopmph to my cards. Hope you like it!
Now I want to give you a view of the punch, both in positive and negative impressions:
I punched it out of the new In Color, Melon Mambo. Isn't that one gorgeous color? Luscious is another good description for it. It is part of the new In Color family that you can view on page 6 of the new Idea Book & Catalog. Just click on the button up at the top left of my blog, then click on Shop Now, which will take you to my Stampin' Up! website, where you can spend as much time as you like. Just try not to drool on your keyboard, though; it's not good for it! You'll love these colors, I promise you.
Thanks for stopping by again. I hope you'll come back soon. I'm going to be super busy in the next week, getting ready to go to Salt Lake City for the annual Stampin' Up! convention. Several thousand demonstrators swoop down on the city and have a fantastic time, meeting with old and new friends, learning about new product and playing with some stamps that we get FREE! And when I come back, I will be sharing lots of new ideas with you, so do come to see me here. Or give me a call and you can come over and play with my new toys! I'd like that!
